Simon Jeffes was an English classically-trained guitarist, composer and arranger. He was the founder and lead performer of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Most of the pieces on his solo album Piano Music are previously unreleased material found on tapes after his untimely death in December 1997. The other fourteen pieces were played and recorded by Jeffes at various times and places. "Shelter" and "Cajun Piano" are sketches of pieces Simon planned to record for his next Penguin Cafe Orchestra album. This is a re-mastered version of the original 2000 release.
